My mother and I started the Pet Bow-Tique as Murphy’s Pet Products over fifteen years ago and it has been growing ever since.  It began out of our passion for animals and has thrived based on our dedication to quality products and friendly service.  In 2000, I decided to train as a professional pet groomer in order to offer my customers additional services.

In 2002, we opened the doors at our current location, the Pet Bow-Tique, an exciting concept in full-service grooming combined with our pet boutique.  That same year, we introduced our bed and breakfast style boarding facility located at our home. 

Although my mother passed away before she had the opportunity to see the culmination of all our dreams, her memory lives on at the Pet Bow-Tique, as well as her love for all creatures great and small.

Meet the Owners

Dawn Blackmore – I am a graduate of the Florida Institute of Animal Arts.  I also have over ten years of experience as a Veterinary Technician, from which I attended St. Petersburg College's Veterinary Technology Program, which is very helpful when working with animals who may have skin conditions, common ailments, injuries as well as  behavioral problems, I will always suggest an appropriate course of action if I notice something that concerns me while we are working with your pet.  I love every one of our customers and can’t imagine a better job than grooming and caring for pets!

Nelson – My husband and partner.   Together we have designed and built our wonderful kennel, Plantation Pet Resort.  He has been in the pet care business for twenty-five years and used to raise exotic parrots.  Today he devotes his time to the care of the special guests at our "canine bed and breakfast" on eleven grassy, oak-covered acres, where he is the leader of the pack!  He loves playing Frisbee with the dogs and takes special care of each and every pet.

We also have several groomers and two receptionists on staff at The Bow-Tique who are available to assist you and answer your questions.  Please feel free to call at  any time you may have a question or would like to schedule an appointment.  Each of our groomers has been carefully screened and professionally trained.  Grooming is an art, and each groomer has a unique touch, so please feel free to request a particular groomer as you get to know our staff!
